a brief biography about myself and why this website is here
I'm 24 years old and have achieved a 2:1 BA(Hons)
degree in Photography at the University of the West of
England's School of Creative Art in Bristol. I've spent the last 4 years living in Bristol, having grown up in Manchester and spent 2 years as an IT Technican for Transitive Ltd before deciding to move city to explore photography further. Before I completed my degree at UWE I spent a year at Weston College, gaining a Distinction in Foundation
Diploma Photomedia.
I've been interested in photography and computers from an early age,
and only now am I beginning to explore the full potential of what
photography as an art form can capture. My early experimentation with
digital photography inspired me to go back to the roots of analogue
film photography and discover the potential of the captured image.
I have also explored the relationship between static images and passing
time with a series of timelapse sequences I completed during my
Foundation Diploma and experimented with for university.
Recently I've been using my Mamaya 35mm SLR camera alongside my Canon
EOS 350D Digital SLR, and after scanning in the negatives have discovered
some unique qualities in the images that I've been unable to capture
on my Digital SLR. I'm slowly working on getting more of my backlog
of images captured over the last 5 years available onto the Internet, so please check my website for updates. |
